Optical Fibre : A boon for Today's Technology

Have you ever wondered how your internet data travels to you through various mediums. Can you imagine a wire thinner than the diameter of your hair can perform total internal reflection and deliver your data on your network in appropriate form. Let’s know how this works: Optical fiber or Fiber Optics is the  medium and the technology associated with the transmission of information as light pulses along a glass or plastic strand or fiber. Fiber optics is used long-distance and high-performance data networking. But the question is how this light tavels through wire ? Now let me ask a question that have you ever heared about total internal reflections? For those who don’t know let me explain first : When the light is incident on a reflecting surface , it reflects in a certain direction. The phenomenon of Total Internal Reflection occurs if the angle of incidence is greater than a certain limiting angle, called the critical angle. In general, total internal reflection takes place at th...

Mobile Data is going to get as costly as Rs 100/- per GB ? Is it really Possible? Read to know reality !

Most shocking NEWS arrived as early as in the afternoon of 26th August 2020 about the expected Hike in tarrif price by Bharti Airtel as hinted by its chairman Sunil Mittal. As per Mittal, Airtel users should get 1.6GB of data for Rs 160 instead of receiving 16GB data for the same price. Currently, Airtel offers 1GB data per day for 24 days at Rs 199. This translates to around 24 GB data at Rs 199 and if Mittal as he said will continue to implement then this way, users will possibly receive just 2.4 GB data for the price. Sunil Mittal, Chairman at Airtel said, “You either consume 1.6 GB of capacity per month either at this price point or you may prepare to pay a lot more. We are not wanting USD 50-60 like the US or Europe but certainly USD 2 for 16 GB a month is not sustainable.”The Airtel chief also said that the ARPU (average revenue per user) is slated to cross Rs 200/monthly in the next six months or so. Interestingly, Airtel considers watching TV, movies and entertainment to be par...

Ever wondered how TCP Works ? Let us understand how a connection is established........

😰😨Ever wondered how TCP works and what happens when a node on one network establishes a TCP connection with a node on another network.... First Let us know what TCP is:TCP or Transmission Control Protocol is a standard that defines how to establish and maintain a network conversation through which application programs can exchange data. Now let us know What Happens during connection very briefly:    The TCP network is established in transport layer which involves Multiplexing and Demultiplexing where an IP Datagram encapsulates a TCP server. As a protocol, TCP establishes connections used to send long chains of segments of data.   These include IP and Ethernet, which just send individual packets of data.  The way TCP establishes a connection, is through the use of different TCP control flags, used in a very specific order. Connection  A, sends a TCP segment to connection B with this SYN flag set.   Connection B then responds with a TCP segment, ...

Blog #2 on Remote Sensing Technology

Hey Peeps, Thanks a lot for a good response to my previous blog. Remote Sensing has been my topic of interest since i was in class 10th but what i lacked was the resources for appropriate information. Here i will try my best to share whatever i can.  Let's dive right into History of Remote Sensing Technology:                                                   History of Remote Sensing Remote Sensing Started back in 1858 with the help of Hot Air Balloon followed by Pigeon Mounted Camera in 1903 and Plane Mounted Camera from 1914 to 1945 which proved its importance in World War 2. 1947 was the year of immense importance not only because India attained her Independence   but also due to the fact that we received first space based photo on March 7 ,1947 using K-12 camera having Black and White Infrared film from Viking sounding rocket that...

What is Remote Sensing ? How important it is ?

Remote Sensing ( A brief Introduction) Hey there People, In this blog I will be sharing what remote sensing is   and how significant it is ? What Remote Sensing is? Remote sensing is the technology of acquiring information about the earth’s surface without actually being in contact with it. Do you know ? : Our eyes work in visible part of spectrum but it is also a Remote Sensor. Remote Sensing is done by Sensing or recording reflected and emitted energy and processing , analysing and applying that information. What are the different components of Remote Sensing ? a.        Energy Source Or illumination b.       Radiation and the atmosphere c.        Interaction with target d. ...

Is Keyboard actually backbone of a computer?

Computer is basically a machine that works with the help of various tools ,Software applications , Hardware Resources and an Internet Connection(needed as per use). Although each and every part of a computer plays a significant role as each organ in a Human Body but a Keyboard can be referred as the Backbone of a Computer.  Keyboard is an input device which proves to be useful while communicating with the machine. You need a language to communicate with the computer but most importantly you need a tool through which you can encode this message in a language through which computer understands it well. That's where keyboard comes into play ! Hope you liked my Answer. Thank you
