Quantum Computing is the future !

Quantum Computer , As the name suggests brings the idea of modern computers like mobile phones and laptops but this assumption is completely incorrect. A classical computer works on binary bit that is information is stored as a combination of 0 and 1 but a quantum computer uses  quantum bit or “Qubit” which can be 0 and 1 simultaneously. Qubit can grow exponentially beyond the understanding of human mind.

Quatum supremacy is achieved when classical computer  is unable to keep up after picking a circuit to run it on a quatum computer with increase in circuit complexity and simulating these things on a classical computer.

Modern quantum chips can process 2^53 states. Running small chunks  in the largest computer in the world  will take 10,000 years for a complete computation but a small quatum chip can do it in about 3 minute and 20 seconds.

 Unbelievable, Isn’t it?

What is "Quatum Physics" that made it possible?

Quantum physics is the study of matter and energy at its most fundamental level. A central tenet of quantum physics is that energy comes in indivisible packets called quanta. Quanta behave very differently to macroscopic matter: particles can behave like waves, and waves behave as though they are particles.

Qubits ( A different approach) :

Qubits can represent numerous possible combinations of 1 and 0 at the same time. This ability to simultaneously be in multiple states is called superposition. To put qubits into superposition, researchers manipulate them using precision lasers or microwave beams.

Thanks to this counter intuitive phenomenon, a quantum computer with several qubits in superposition can crunch through a vast number of potential outcomes simultaneously. The final result of a calculation emerges only once the qubits are measured, which immediately causes their quantum state to “collapse” to either 1 or 0.

What is quantum supremacy?

It’s the point at which a quantum computer can complete a mathematical calculation that is demonstrably beyond the reach of even the most powerful supercomputer.

It’s still unclear exactly how many qubits will be needed to achieve this because researchers keep finding new algorithms to boost the performance of classical machines, and supercomputing hardware keeps getting better. But researchers and companies are working hard to claim the title, running tests against some of the world’s most powerful supercomputers.

Funfact for us :-

An international team of researchers has used Google’s Sycamore quantum computer to power an online Zoom meeting for the first time. The US tech giant’s device, which consists of 53 programmable superconducting quantum bits, has already been shown to outperform classical computers at certain tasks. The new discovery could allow meeting participants to appear in more than one break-out room at the same time – a phenomenon that the team has dubbed “quantum Zoom advantage”.
